In the quest to win as many games as possible, many poker players neglect the fact that game selection can often play a very important role in the achievement of that goal. This particular aspect of the game can take on different meanings depending on the player and their level of playing skill and their experience with the game. Of course location plays a part in the decision making process as well. If you live in a relatively small town where there are obviously fewer choices in poker games, your options are severely limited compared to a poker player who lives in a major urban center.
With regard to location, a more experienced and successful poker player may even look beyond the opportunities presented by his or her location and look to global venues in which to test their skills against players from other places. Factors such as your skill level, your playing habits, your personal preferences and of course your bankroll will come into play here as well. You may find that the poker playing opportunities presented by world famous gambling capitals such as Las Vegas are right up your alley, or a busy city like Los Angeles would be more to your liking.
